The Law Offices of Steven G. Shadallah is a general practice law firm with a concentration on litigation.  The firm handles a wide variety of domestic relations cases including, but not limited to, divorce, legal separation, parenting issues, paternity cases, child support and alimony cases.

In addition, the firm handles a variety of civil litigation and criminal defense.  Founded in 1979 by its namesake, the firm's offices are located in Salem, NH and Salem, MA.  The attorneys are licensed in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine.  The firm's success has been built on its attention to detail, addressing the needs of its clients and its policy of responding to client telephone calls and emails within 24 hours.

Our Team

Steven G. Shadallah


The firm was established in 1979 by Steven G. Shadallah.  Steven graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University and thereafter received his law degree from Boston University School of Law.  His practice focuses on domestic relations, criminal defense and civil litigation.  He is licensed in NH, MA and ME.  He has tried hundreds of cases to verdict or conculsion in NH, MA and ME, including many high profile cases and complex matters.  A significant portion of his client base is referred by other attorneys who seek his assistance for their clients.  He has an unmatched reputation for trial preparation and attention to detail.  He is a frequent speaker at bar association events on conducting trials and trial strategy in marital cases.  He is consistently rated AV by Martindale Hubbell, the country's leading lawyer peer review service.  Less than 5% of all attorneys in the country receive the AV designation by their peers.

Laura B. Barletta

Laura B. Barletta is the daughter of the founder.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Endicott College where she majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology.  She is a graduate of New England School of Law where she was a Presidential Scholar each year.

Following her law school graduation, she worked for four years as an Assistant District Attorney in Essex County, assigned to the Lawrence District Court, the busiest district court in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  While there, she handled hundreds of cases, tried dozens of jury trials and served as the Supervisor of the Domestic Violence Unit.  Before joining the firm, she worked as a litigation associate at Army & Roche in Boston, MA handling domestic relations cases and civil litigation.  She is a dedicated and compassionate advocate who is both tough yet fair with strong people and litigation skills.  She is licensed both in NH and MA.  Attorney Barletta is also a Certified Guardian Ad Litem in New Hampshire.
